These are called \u2018hunger periods\u2019 in their annual cycle, and could last anywhere between 1-3 months. These hunger periods result in them turning to money lenders to borrow money, or migrating to the near by cities to earn money. Neither of these help the family in the long run.<\/p>\n<p><em>There is a way out of this dilemma\u2026<\/em><\/p>\n<div class='avia-iframe-wrap'><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Food Security - ENGLISH\" width=\"1500\" height=\"844\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/gv03a-Jfdto?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>CHE programs are now focusing on teaching vulnerable families about small scale vegetable cultivation and mini income generation programs to help them get through those difficult months. These small scale interim\u00a0<span class=\"il\">food<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"il\">security<\/span>\u00a0programs can be launched using \u2018start up\u2019 kits that are context specific and easy
