{"id":11474,"date":"2021-10-28T13:46:40","date_gmt":"2021-10-28T20:46:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gkfhf3spiv.wpdns.site\/?p=11474"},"modified":"2024-08-21T04:48:17","modified_gmt":"2024-08-21T11:48:17","slug":"praying-for-the-sick","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dev.reliantcreative.org\/medical-ambasadors\/old-site\/praying-for-the-sick\/","title":{"rendered":"Praying for the sick"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In the book of Matthew, we see a beautiful picture of people bringing sick loved ones to Jesus in hopes that he would heal them.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0\u201cJesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people.\u00a0\u00a0News about him spread all over Syria, and people brought to him all who were ill with various diseases, those suffering severe pain, the demon-possessed, those having seizures, and the paralyzed; and he healed them.\u201d &#8211; <\/em>Matthew 4:23-24<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Imagine how special it would be to physically take a sick loved one to the Savior for healing! Now, consider that God has given every Christian the ability to do this. Take your commitment to pray sincerely, doing it right then and there before you get distracted and forget your promise.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Pray Hopefully.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>When sickness seems hopeless, remember that you are praying to the one that is described in Exodus 15:26 as \u201cJehovah Rapha, The Lord Who Heals\u201d.\u00a0 While we may feel powerless, we can find great hope in that the highest power of all has invited us to the throne, where we can pray for our sick loved ones.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Pray Thankfully.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Answer to prayer is one of the biggest blessings in the life of a Christian. When prayer is answered we must not forget to \u201cput on a garment of praise\u201d to the one who provided in our time of need.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201c\u2026and provide for those who grieve in Zion\u2014 to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the LORD for the display of his splendor.&#8221; <\/em>&#8211;\u00a0 Isaiah 61:3<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Putting Prayer for the Sick into Action<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>At Medical Ambassadors International (MAI) prayer is critical and the central core of our ministry. <strong>In addition to praying for the sick, we take action through Community Health Evangelisms (CHE). \u00a0<\/strong>CHE is a multifaceted approach to Christian ministry that addresses the needs of the whole person\u2014physical, spiritual, emotional, and social. It is a strategic way to facilitate holistic transformational development or integral mission.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/dev.reliantcreative.org\/medical-ambasadors\/old-site\/our-approach\/che-core-values\/\">Learn more about CHE.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>In every community, health is a major concern.\u00a0 Many CHE lessons focus on health issues, such as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>HIV &amp; AIDS<\/strong>&#8211; A large series of lessons address issues common to this disease and its effects. Lessons include prevention of HIV, understanding its transmission, care for those bed-bound, helping communities and churches reduce the stigma faced by people living with HIV, meeting needs of children orphaned by AIDS, and more.<\/li>\n<li><strong>CHE for the Disabled<\/strong>-Around the world there is a strong correlation between disability and poverty. Skills training for caregivers, access to health care, simple rehabilitation, and inclusion in education\/community life\/church life are all vital components of this program.
